Ormiston Hospital Expansion

Ormiston Hospital’s $38 million expansion adds 4,500 sqm to its existing facility, doubling capacity and enhancing patient care for South and East Auckland communities. G&S Technologies was pivotal in delivering a state-of-the-art Austco Nurse Call System, ensuring improved communication, safety, and operational excellence.

Project overview

Ormiston Hospital is the only private surgical hospital in Auckland’s Counties Manukau District Health Board catchment, serving a population of 540,000. The facility’s expansion includes a new endoscopy suite, additional beds, consulting spaces, and provision for future growth. Practical completion was achieved in June 2024, and Prime Minister Christopher Luxon officially opened the facility in October 2024.

G&S Technologies was engaged to design, implement, and commission a cutting-edge Nurse Call System as part of the hospital’s mission to deliver patient-centred care through technology and innovation.

“Guild and Spence have just completed the Taupo Hospital nurse call upgrade. Due to the environment of working in a “live” hospital, this project has not gone without its difficulties. Engagement and communication with all hospital staff whilst installing the system were crucial to mitigate or foresee possible problems. G&S Technologies staff displayed professionalism and good workmanship throughout all these sensitive areas to allow the work to flow seamlessly, with minimal or no downtime to hospital staff and patients.  I would recommend G&S Technologies for any future hospital projects or refurbishments.
Great job done by all!“
